02 — Research
May 2025 — present
Graduate Researcher
Ingenuity Labs, Small-Scale Robotics Lab
Developing an open-source magnetic micromanipulation system, 3D-printable and adaptable to
any inverted microscope, for mapping 3D stiffness gradients as cells grow and linking
mechanical properties to how they behave and move.
May — Aug 2024
Robotics Researcher
The Perk Lab, Queen's University
Built a reusable open-source ROS module for motion planning with a low-cost 6-axis arm,
and an electromagnetic tracking system with its sensor built into a 3D-printed tool.
May — Aug 2023
Automation Engineering Intern
An industrial automation distributor — Mississauga, Ontario
PLC programming in Omron Sysmac: SQL database management, automated barcode reading, MQTT
communication. Assembled machinery from CAD; installed mechanical, electrical and pneumatic
systems from engineering drawings.
03 — Technical
RoboticsROS2, motion planning, SLAM/Nav2, computer vision, optical and electromagnetic tracking.
SoftwarePython, C++, C, data structures and algorithms, PyTorch, NumPy, Pandas, Linux.
HardwareEmbedded systems, circuit design and testing, electromechanical assembly, PLC, 3D printing.
Tesryn is the studio built out of that work: engineering systems that do real analysis and
show their working. The clearest way to see it is the worked demo — a plain-English
automation request turned into requirements, a checked configuration, a cell layout, the
standards that govern it and a buy list with its sources.
