Privacy policy

Draft, not legal advice. This is a starting point written for a small Canadian company with a brochure site. Have it reviewed by Canadian counsel before you rely on it, and make sure it describes what your site and your host actually do.
Tesryn ("we") operates this website. We collect as little personal information as possible, and we do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies on this site.
What we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us or submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write in the message.
- Basic technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp, for security and reliability purposes.
Why we use it
To respond to your enquiry, to maintain a record of correspondence, and to keep the site available and secure. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Client and project information
Information you share with us while scoping or delivering a project is handled under the agreement covering that project, not under this policy. We do not use client data to train models, and we do not reuse it outside the engagement it belongs to.
Service providers and cross-border processing
This site is served from Tesryn's own hardware in Ontario, published to the public internet through Tailscale, with Microsoft 365 for email. Traffic to the public site is relayed by Tailscale, and email is processed by Microsoft. Those providers may route or store data outside Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
Retention
We keep correspondence for as long as needed for the purpose it was sent, and then delete it. Server logs are retained according to our provider's standard retention period.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@tesryn.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We limit access to correspondence to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own, loads nothing from another company's servers, and carries no advertising or analytics trackers. If you start a project, the answers you type are kept in your own browser until you send them, and then deleted from it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above.
